Congratulations to the 97 Boys
The SA United 97 Black boys team traveled to Houston this past weekend in style. The boys rented a 15-passenger van and pretty much stayed attached at the hip the entire weekend. The obvious focus was team bonding and the results did not fall short. The boys finished the weekend 2nd place and returned to San Antonio undefeated. Player of the Tournament is Zach Word playing the goalie position with zero error’s and vocally leading his teammates in every match. The boys scored 8 goals over the weekend with no one player dominating the net. A much needed team get away for the 97 Black!!!!!

Congratulations 97 Girls black
This weekend the Girls played in the 'The Challenge Soccer Club 8th Annual Presidents' Day Invitational Tournament ' held in Houston. The girls only competed in this tournament due to other variables happening to in town tournaments forcing them to pull out. With this late registration the Girls were told they where to play in the 96 age bracket due to the 97 bracket being full. The girls started the tournament with only 10 players on the field for the Saturday games due to illness and other conflicts. The girls battled on though finishing the tournament in 1st place late Sunday evening. Congratulations girls, good job.

91 Boys finish 2nd in State
What a weekend for the 91 boys, after loosing their first game 1-0 in a horrible wind controlled game, the boys came out firing in the 2nd and 3rd games winning 4-0 and 3-0 respectfully for maximum points. Despite these two magnificent wins and leading the way in goals scored and against, they came in 2nd on 20 points with the winners sitting on 21 points. What a journey it has been for these boys, coming up from the depths of D2 when they began several seasons ago to now competing at the highest of levels in a State Championship! The boys will finish out their careers with SA United in the Spring playing at the top of their game! Great work!

Annual Club Banquet and Awards – Fall 2008
This year’s banquet was a huge success, with over 400 people in attendance; it was certainly a night to look back on.
A special thanks to the holiday Inn select for helping make the event a night to remember!
This year we donated over 200lbs of canned food items to the San Antonio Food Bank and all of our left over food from the excellent buffet was donated to the homeless shelter downtown!
Thank you for all your support!
A true sign of the direction the club is taking!
