Questions and Answers!
Will all of the teams have trainers?
Each SA United team will have a trainer. World Wide Soccer will be the official trainer’s for SA United. World Wide Soccer is a well-respected training company located in San Antonio that has coached and developed hundreds of children in San Antonio over the past few years. To find out more about our trainers please visit www.worldwidesoccerSA.com.

So we have a trainer, but who will be the coach?
Each team will have a trainer and a  manager  The  Manager  will  also act as the parent coach and will be expected to attend as many training sessions as possible and all games. The trainers will attend every training sessions and as many of the games as possible. After each game that a trainer can not attend,  the coach will fill out a post game report to aid the trainer in preparation for the next training session. We call this ‘Review and Repair’ (Trainers/coaches will review the games and then repair if need be during training)

Where will we train?
SA United understands that location of training is a very important factor when considering which club to join. SA United will be registered with NEYSO. Through NEYSO we will have access to playing fields such as McAllister Park, John James and Lady Bird Johnson. SA United, NEYSO and World Wide Soccer will work together to ensure all training is held consistently at one of the above locations.

Times of training?
The actual times for training will be determined once the teams have been selected and training locations have been finalized.  All U11 and older teams will train twice per week for 1 hour and thirty minutes.  Academy teams will train twice per week for between 1 hour and 1 hour and 30 minutes.  World Wide Soccer will also provide additional programs available to all SA United players to offer the opportunity for additional playing, training and scrimmage time.

What does SA United expect from their players?
We expect all players to be fully committed to SA United, from attending all training sessions and games with the necessary apparel to being committed, hard working, goal-oriented, motivated, determined, respectful, and responsible towards the team. The players should also have fun!

Where will our home games be played?
SA United will play home games at either NEYSO North or at Specht Road. Maps and directions can be found at www.neyso.org  Division one teams will play their home games at Schertz Soccer Complex.

Will there be much travel involved?
There won’t be a huge amount of travel involved. Division II games are generally within the San Antonio catchments area, including New Braunfels and San Marcos. Super II and division 1 involves some travel to Austin and sometimes south towards the Corpus Christi vicinity.

Can my child play up?
Yes. The training staff and coach will make this decision, after taking into consideration age, ability, skill level and players athletic build.

How many spots are on each team?
Generally there are between 14 and 16 available slots per team. On the occasion a team may take a roster of up to 18.

How much does it cost to be a part of SA United?
Please refer to the player forms for prices as they differ depending on the season and the program.

Late Fees
Late Payment Policy will be:  We will allow a two (2) weeks grace period.  After 2 weeks, day 15 – 28, there will be a penalty fee of $25 plus payment of due fees.  After day 28 we will enforce a no play or train rule until dues and late fees are paid in full. Parents are also responsible for any checks that may bounce.

What does the training/club fee cover?
SA United Club fee covers all trainer expenses, uniform, administration expenses, training equipment, 2 tournaments, one in the fall and one in the spring, pre season club camp and end fall season awards and club party.

What other costs should we expect to have to pay during the season?
SA United will enter teams into 3-4 tournaments per year, in which the team will share the registration fee, trainer fees and additional costs.  (Two tournament per year are paid for by the club)  We estimate each player (roster of 15) shall pay approx $30-40 per tournament. If the club as a whole enters a tournament, the cost will be generally reduced.
All players will be responsible for the registration and trainer fees for the tournaments whether they choose to play or not.

Can teams fundraise to reduce costs?
Yes! SA United encourages each team and the club as a whole to work together to raise additional money to help better our teams and our club. Money raised will also help reduce tournament expenses and other incurred costs. It is also common that teams work together to ensure that no player is left out! We are also always interested in hearing from parents that would like to get more involved with the club to help out with fundraising! For more information please call 210 599 4622.

Are players guaranteed playing time?
Yes. Every child that arrives on time for a game is guaranteed playing time. The final decision of how long each individual plays will rest with the coach. Factors determining this will be attendance to training sessions, punctuality, attitude and the game situation. We would like to see each player play at least 50% of total game time.

Parent Involvement?
Parents are expected to be parents, and not coaches. Parents should be there to give their sons or daughters the emotional support. They should be the biggest fans, and always there to cheer on the team. They should also make sure that the player is at practices, games, and tournaments, etc on time. They will be responsible for making sure that the player's fees are all paid on time.
