Will all of the teams have trainers?
All SA United teams will have a trainer. SA United employs the professional training services of World Wide Soccer. World Wide Soccer is a well-respected training company located in San Antonio that has coached and developed hundreds of children in San Antonio over the past few years. Where will we train?
SA United understands that location of training is a very important factor when considering which club to join. With this in mind, we will ensure that all of our training facilities will be very accessible and conveniently located. SA United is registered with NEYSO. Through NEYSO we will have access to playing fields such as McAllister Park, John James, North NEYSO and Lady Bird Johnson. SA United, NEYSO and World Wide Soccer will work together to ensure all training is held consistently at one of the above locations.
What time will we train?
The actual times for training will be determined once the teams have been selected and training locations have been finalized. All U11 and older teams will train twice per week for 1 hour and thirty minutes. Typically and where possible we try to run the younger teams first and then the older teams at the later training times. World Wide Soccer also offers other weekly programs to all SA United players for the opportunity to gain additional playing, training and scrimmage time.
What should my player wear to training?
All players are required to wear their SA United training T-shirt, black shorts, black socks, shin guards, and cleats to practice. Players should also bring a ball to practice.
What does SA United expect from their competitive players?
We expect all players to be fully committed to SA United, from attending all training sessions and games with the necessary apparel to being committed, hard working, goal-oriented, motivated, determined, responsible, and respectful towards the team. Competitive soccer requires all of the above to be successful. Players will be evaluated an annual bases and must meet the above criteria before being strongly considered for future seasons.

Will there be much travel involved?
Division I and Super II involve some travel to Austin and possibly south to the Corpus Christi area. Division II games are within San Antonio and the surrounding areas, including New Braunfels and San Marcos.
Can my child play up?
Yes. The training staff and coach will make this decision after considering age, ability, skill level and player’s athletic build. However we do try our best to encourage that players play at their age level.
How many spots are on each team?
There are approximately 14 to 16 available slots per team, but on occasion, a team may take a roster of up to 18. For Under 11 8v8 soccer there are 12 roster spots available.
Financial support
SA United budgets to provide financial support for those players who need assistance. Scholarships are available based upon need. A completed scholarship application form along with a 2008 tax return is required. Contact Gary Beadle for details at 210-310-5184 or gbeadle10@gmail.com.
Is my player guaranteed playing time?
Super II and Division II are encouraged to play players a minimum of 50% every game. Division 1 teams have no minimum requirement; however, we encourage our trainers and coaches to play each player 50% of every game when possible. Factors that may effect playing time are attendance at training sessions, punctuality, attitude and the game situation.
What is expected from parents?
Parents are expected to be parents, not coaches. Parents should support their players in an encouraging and appropriate manner. They should make sure their player is at practices, games, and tournaments on time. Parents are also responsible for ensuring their player's fees are paid on time.
